Department Area Supervisor - dd's Discounts

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Department Area Supervisor assists the Store Manager in managing and controlling the operations of the store to ensure that company standards and expectations are consistently met; supervises areas assigned by the Store Manager and follows the dd’s DISCOUNTS philosophy and policies research to customers, Associates, and merchandising. Responsible for learning all phases of store operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for all aspects of Store Operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
Ensure that Company Standards and Expectations are met.
Executes business plan to deliver desired sales and profit.
Maintains good quality Customer Service.
Assists in recruiting, training, and developing Associates.
Drives shortage control programs to deliver desired shortage results.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

At least 2 years of management experience in a retail environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead, manage motivate, and communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
Ability to train, coach, and develop Associates.
Must have highly developed organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
Must exercise considerable independent judgment and discretion.
Ability to work a variety of shifts.
Must be able to move around all areas of the store.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct supervision of all non-exempt employees.

Job Type: Full-time.

Salary: Up to $19.00 per hour.
