Department Area Supervisor - dd's Discounts
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Department Area Supervisor assists the Store Manager in managing and controlling the operations of the store to ensure that company standards and expectations are consistently met; supervises areas assigned by the Store Manager and follows the dd’s DISCOUNTS philosophy and policies research to customers, Associates, and merchandising. Responsible for learning all phases of store operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for all aspects of Store Operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Ensure that Company Standards and Expectations are met.
- Executes business plan to deliver desired sales and profit.
- Maintains good quality Customer Service.
- Assists in recruiting, training, and developing Associates.
- Drives shortage control programs to deliver desired shortage results.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- At least 2 years of management experience in a retail environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage motivate, and communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
- Ability to train, coach, and develop Associates.
- Must have highly developed organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
- Must exercise considerable independent judgment and discretion.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts.
- Must be able to move around all areas of the store.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct supervision of all non-exempt employees.
Job Type: Full-time.
Salary: Up to $18.00 per hour.
